I am incredibly humbled and excited to share some big news: Frank Salas Photography is the featured cover story for the March 2026 issue of Professional Photographer magazine!

Being recognized by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA)—an organization that has set the standard for our industry for over a century—is a milestone I don’t take lightly. This wasn’t just a mention; it was a comprehensive 10-page feature written by the talented Amanda Arnold.

More Than Just “Pretty Pictures”

The article, titled “Luxury Earned,” goes behind the lens of my 37-year career. It explores the philosophy that has driven my studio from day one: that wedding photography isn’t just about the click of a shutter, but about communication, preparation, and presence.

In the interview, we dove deep into topics I’m passionate about:

  • The Myth of the “Bridezilla”: Why I believe “difficult” situations are almost always solved by better communication and setting expectations early.
  • The “Hero Shot”: A look at the technical breakdown of some of my favorite images, including the majestic staircase at San Francisco City Hall.
  • The Evolution of a Brand: How I’ve transitioned from a high school student with a part-time job to Orange County’s premier luxury wedding photographer.

A Legacy of Excellence

One of my favorite parts of this feature was discussing the “Hero Shot” (found on page 46). I shared the technical specs—using my Canon EOS R5 with the RF15-35mm lens—and the importance of arriving at a venue a night early to “walk the property.”

To me, luxury isn’t just a price tag; it’s a level of service and a commitment to never stop learning. As I mentioned in the article, “I think what separates the true veteran photographer from a really good wedding photographer is that you’re allowing them into your world, allowing them to understand what you’re doing that day, step by step.”

A Heartfelt Thank You

To Amanda Arnold and the entire team at PPA: thank you for this incredible platform.

And to my clients: thank you for trusting me with your most precious memories. Whether it’s a quiet moment under a pearl-encrusted veil or a grand exit at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, you are the reason I still love this job after nearly four decades.
